Yoga for Menopause – Focus on insomnia, anxiety and irritability Saturday 4th January 9.30-11.30am
A restorative yoga practise that includes gentle movement, simple weight bearing poses, and relaxing supported postures. All classes will end with a deep relaxation or yoga nidra (yogic sleep).
Suitable for women at all stages of this time of transition – perimenopause, menopause or post menopause.
We all know about the hot flushes but there are many other symptoms that can occur at this time of change in women’s bodies As our hormones begin to fluctuate our nervous system can become stressed and symptoms like insomnia, irritability and anxiety can result. Other problems that can occur as the balance of hormones change and our body becomes stressed can include mood changes, thyroid problems, heart problems, incontinence, fibroids, osteoporosis
Yoga for menopause can help with calming the nervous system, balancing hormones, strengthening bones and relieving many other symptoms of menopause.
The workshops will all be general restorative practises that will help with all the above but each will have a special focus on certain symptoms. We will be looking at the Menopause from a western medicine as well as from a Chinese medicine point of view.
If enough interest I hope to make this the beginnings of a regular monthly workshop.
